About Us – King’s & Convicts Brewing Co. is a craft brewery located in Highwood, Illinois; a town that Teddy Roosevelt (the toughest President in America) once called the “Toughest Town in America”.

Our beer is crafted with a sense of freedom, a love of travel, story telling and the fellowship of beer!
We are Kings & Convicts in the Land of the Free!
We brew Ales and Pilsners utilizing hops and malts from the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and England. 

Kings & Convicts? – A couple of wandering immigrants from England (The King) and Australia (The Convict) found themselves in Highwood, Illinois, looking to brew beer and debate sports and history. The King and the Convict decided that Highwood needed a brewery.

And so it was decreed.

Lauding just over land is bloody boring, so the King and the Convict sailed out on uncharted waters, collecting all sorts of thieving bastards in a bloodless coup of beautiful beer diplomacy. Along the way, they learned of a storied light house on the west coast — a beacon of fog and light: Ballast Point.

The King and the Convict decided that Ballast Point was worth conquering the sea for and we don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.

As the new owners of Ballast Point, Kings & Convicts will continue the tradition of great innovation, great fellowship and great storytelling over the shared enjoyment of beer.
