2024 Real California Pizza Contest

General Information

Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States or District of Columbia, age 18 or older who are either employed or otherwise professionally affiliated with a restaurant or pizzeria or enrolled in an accredited secondary culinary school.

Entries will be judged by judges from the California Milk Advisory Board, or its designees from among eligible Entries received in each of the two Pizza Categories as follows:
(1) the Name of the Recipe and a brief description explaining why it is applicable to the Pizza Category (15%); (2) the Photo(s) of the Recipe and its appropriateness to the applicable Pizza Category (15%);
(3) The Recipe (70%, based on 35% for use of California cheese and 35% for flavor expectations).

Category #1. Protein: Protein pizza recipes that highlight meat toppings in hearty combination with Real California Mozzarella and other Real California Cheeses.
Category #2. Produce: Produce pizza recipes that emphasize the delicious plant-based flavors of vegetables and fruits paired with Real California Mozzarella and other Real California Cheeses.

Note: All recipes must include California Mozzarella, 1-3 additional California Cheeses, and have no more than three (3) toppings, which excludes ingredients in the crust dough, sauce and spices.

Prizes / Awards / Medals / Ribbons

The Category Winner in each Pizza Category will receive $7,500.
Each Finalist who is not a Category Winner will also receive a cash award of $750.
The Three-Cheese Pizza Category Winning Team of Finalists will split $7,500 ($3,750 for each Finalist).
