Competition – March 1-2, 2024
This is a New Contest and a State Championship.
The Torry Island BBQ Festival features a KCBS BBQ Showdown Event.
This Event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. KCBS representatives will be present. Judging starts at noon on Saturday, March 2, 2024, using the blind judging technique.
The contest consists of four categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket). All four categories are required for Grand Champion prizes.
Entry Fees
Per Entry Fee – $300.00
Prize Purse – $12,500.00
Grand Champion* – $5,000.00
Reserve Champion* – $1,750.00
3rd Overall – $500.00
4th Overall – $400.00
5th Overall – $300.00
* Each team is required to cook all four meat categories for eligibility to win.

1st Place – $400.00
2nd Place – $300.00
3rd Place – $175.00
4th Place – $150.00
5th Place – $125.00
In addition to a cash prize, a trophy or prize will be awarded in each category.
