Competition – February 2-3, 2023
This is a State Championship.
The Annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Competition is hosted each February. Funds raised benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County.
More than 50 teams from across the country will compete! Unique entertainment includes; a Music Festival, an aerial flyover, and awards for the best chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket, which will be announced at 5:30 p.m on Saturday.

Feb 3rd – Friday
– 2:00PM teams must have their sites cleared of extra vehicles
– 5:00PM – Cook team mandatory meeting
– 6:00PM GATES OPEN – Teams can start vending to the public
Feb 4th – Saturday 10:00am GATES OPEN
– 12:00PM Chicken turn in
– 12:30PM Ribs turn in
– 1:00PM Pork
– 1:30PM Brisket
– 5:00PM – KCBS Awards Ceremony in the main tent
– 6:00PM – FINAL CALL FOR Turn in Pig Bucks
