This starts off as a recipe contest and turns into a cooking contest.

Garlic is an important ingredient in food dishes from all around the world.

The Gilroy Garlic Festival and the Recipe Cook-off Committee are looking for professional and/or amateur chefs to highlight the use of garlic their particular ethnic food dishes, and compete for a $2,000.00 prize for the charity of their choice (one prize awarded)!

This is an excellent opportunity for professional or amateur chefs to get richly deserved recognition for their cuisine and culinary skills, all while having fun at the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

This competition will include up to four teams of amateur or professional chefs, to include homemakers, corporate or executive chefs, military personnel and retired/active firefighters or law enforcement. Each team will consist of one Chef and one Sous Chef.
