General Information
– The KCBS contest’s entry fee includes Saturday night’s stay at a campground with water, 20 or 30 amp electric (sometimes 50 amp), bathrooms, hot showers, and sewage/dump station.
– Teams must enter the four (4) main KCBS contest categories to be eligible for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion.
– KCBS Contest has an optional 5th category for Dessert; teams must provide all supplies.
– KCBS contests can be held with either full payment or $75 nonrefundable deposit, paid in full 30 days prior.
– Surf & Turf Challenge is a non-sanctioned, just-for-fun contest open Saturday afternoon to campers and teams, cooked on any heat source.
– Judges will be pulled from non-cooking teams and campers. 60% of entry fees return to the prize purse.
– Teams must provide all supplies

Surf & Turf Challenge – April 27, 2019
Per Entry Fee – $50.00 (one (1) category) – $75.00 (two (2) categories)
MUST ENTER BOTH TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR GRAND OR RESERVE GRAND
KCBS BBQ Contest – April 28, 2019
Per Team Fee – $305.00 (includes all four (4) main categories, Saturday night campground lodging)
Trophies will be awarded to Grand, Reserve Grand, and 1st through 3rd for the four (4) main KCBS categories; certificates awarded to 4th and 5th.
KCBS prize purse payouts are based on the number of teams that participate, and pay deeper with more teams. For 2019, the payouts are as follows:
25 teams = $4,000.00 to 8th place
30 teams = $5,000.00 to 8th place
35 teams = $6,000.00 to 10th place
40 teams = $7,000.00 to 10th place
45 teams = $8,000.00 to 12th place
50 teams = $9,000.00 to 12th place
55 teams = $10,000.00 to 15th place
60 teams = $11,000.00 to 15th place
For the Dessert category
1st place receives $100.00 cash and a trophy
2nd gets $75.00 cash
3rd gets $50.00 cash
