General Information
Our competition is open to nearly every style of beer under the sun. After judgement day by the BJCP panel, the top beer and brewer from each entered category will be announced online and prizing handed out accordingly.
Each submitted beer will judged by BJCP judges and scored per standard rules. The winner from each category will be decided by BJCP judging and the brewer will be awarded AHA points in accordance with AHA/BJCP guidelines. A best of show will be selected from these category winners by the BJCP judges.
Egilibility – The competition is open to home brewers across Canada and the United States. Get your entries in and get you beer on the shelves of The Beer Store.
Entry Fees
$5.00 Per Submission
1st Place – The Grand Prize
1. The winner will brew the inaugural batch of their winning recipe on our large-scale system in Barrie, Ontario.
2. The winning beer will also be packaged in 473mL aluminum cans and bear the name and signature of the winning brewer. It will be available in our tap room, retail store and ALSO be distributed by Barnstormer to select The Beer Store locations across Ontario for the Summer and Fall of 2018. The winner will help name this beer and have their signature on the can!
3. The winner will get a release party at our flagship location for up to eight (8) people when the intitial batch is complete. The winner will have the honour of tapping the first keg and – of course – drinking the first pint.
4. The winner will receive a gift certificate for one 30L keg from the initial batch to take home for further “research” after the release party.
5. The winner will receive a $150 .00 cash prize courtesy of The Beer Store (this way you can buy your own beer).
2nd Place – $100.00 gift certificate from The Beer Store and a $100.00 gift certificate from Barnstormer Brewing Distilling Co.
3rd Place – $50.00 gift certificate from The Beer Store and $50.00 gift certificate from Barnstormer Brewing Distilling Co.
