General Information
The Colorado BBQ Challenge is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS)-sanctioned competition.
KCBS sanctions BBQ and Grilling competitions across the U.S. and promotes barbeque as America’s cuisine. In addition, KCBS has an extensive Certified Barbeque Judging program. It is the largest society of barbeque enthusiasts in the world.
Winners of the Colorado BBQ Challenge in Frisco are eligible to compete in the American Royal – the “World Series” of Barbecue.
Entry Fees
Per Entry Fee – $250.00 (Categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Shoulder, Brisket)
Per Entry Fee – $40.00 (Anything Goes-Limit 3)
This category is for miscellaneous meat (Elk, Chicken wings, Seafood…). Entry must be submitted in a KCBS container.
Per Entry Fee – $15.00 (Kids Q, Salsa-Limit 3) (BBQ Sauce-Limit 3) (Side Dish-Limit 3) (Dessert-Limit 3)
The 4 meat categories are required to qualify for KCBS points and to be eligible to win the Reserve and Grand Reserve Champion Prizes.
