General Information
Competition – April 2-3, 2022
Categories – Whole Hog, Pulled Pork, and Pork Ribs
Teams may enter any or all of these categories. These contests have 2 rounds of judging – Blind Preliminaries and On–Site Finals. Some contests limit the number of categories and are classified as a “specialty” contest, i.e., whole hog or rib only contests.
The Awards Program recognizes those teams that most actively participate in Memphis Barbecue Network competition barbecue cooking contests. The contest year runs from January 1 through December 31. The awards program pays cash awards to qualifying teams at the end
of the BBQ competition season.
POINT AWARDS
Teams receive points based on how they finish/rank in each meat category in the top 10 places at each standard sanctioned MBN contest. Those points are as follows:
10th Place 1
9th Place 2
8th Place 3
7th Place 4
6th Place 5
5th Place 6
4th Place 7
3rd Place 8
2nd Place 9
1st Place 10
The Grand Champion will be awarded 3 points in the category won as Grand Champion.
