General Information

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is organized by Olive Oil Times – the industry’s publication of record and the world’s #1 source of information about olive oil.

Extra virgin olive oil brands may be entered in the competition by any company or organization responsible for the brand in the market. This can be a farm, mill, cooperative, bottler, importer, distributor or marketer. Flavored, infused or aromatized oils are not permitted.

Samples are due no later than May 1, 2022

The 2022 NYIOOC will take place in May, 2022.

The NYIOOC judges are trained to detect the positive and negative characteristics in olive oil samples. It is not uncommon for a brand to win an award in some other competition and fail to win in the NYIOOC.
