Seven Generations of Winemakers – The Jourdain family originates from France and has a rich history of winemaking and vineyard ownership; from the Loire Valley to the Provence region of southeast France; where after seven generations they still produce acclaimed wines in these regions.

However the Jourdain name is not new to North Carolina winemaking. It has been almost 50 years now since George Vanderbilt’s grandson, William Cecil, brought over Philippe Jourdain from France to be Biltmore Estate’s first winemaker. Philippe, which ran one of the family vineyards in Provence, was also a teacher of viticulture and oenology at the “Lycee Agricole” in Carcassonne and played an instrumental role in shaping what is today the Biltmore Winery.

Come join us, as a new generation of Jourdain’s bring old world winemaking traditions to the new world terroir of Yadkin Valley North Carolina.
