For almost 20 years, the San Joaquin Wine Competition has leveled the playing field and judged wines according to one most important characteristic: does the wine taste good.

By bringing together professionals from every part of the industry, our judges look to find the wines that will ultimately succeed in the consumer wanting to finish the whole glass, or bottle. Wines are judged with like wines, and price is not used to segregate wines.

Chairman Marty Spate of Riboli Family Wines and his team work tirelessly, every year, to improve the competitiveness of the panels and improve the quality to which entrants are judged.
