Since the first 34 entries competed in Boulder, CO in 1979, the National Homebrew Competition has grown to become the largest of its kind in the world.

We gather the world’s most experienced homebrew judges to analyze and evaluate thousands of entries.

The NHC Final Round is the championship event, where the best-of-the-best homemade beer, mead, and cider compete for the country’s top honors.

All 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners in each judging category from all First Round locations are eligible to compete in the NHC Final Round.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Three (3) bottles/cans per entry, up to 14 oz. bottles, up to 16 oz. cans
• Bottles/cans must not exceed 9.5” tall and 2.75” in diameter, regardless of volume.
• Bottles with raised (embossed) lettering are allowed.
• Entry labels must be at least 1.5” × 2.625” and securely attached to each package.

Prizes / Awards / Medals / Ribbons

High quality gold, silver, and bronze medals will be given in each category, as well as single winners for Best of Show for Beer, Mead, and Cider (Brewer of the Year, Mead maker of the Year, and Cidermaker of the Year, respectively.
