Overview – In the Trash to Treasure Contest, we’re celebrating creativity, sustainability, and the art of giving discarded materials a second life. Look no further than your trash or recycling bin for project materials!
Transform used, broken, worn-out, or unwanted items into something beautiful, useful, or completely unexpected. Whether you’re building furniture from pallets, turning jars into home décor, repurposing electronics into gadgets, or creating art from scrap, we want to see how you breathe new life into forgotten materials.
Share your project with clear photos and step-by-step instructions so others can follow along and be inspired to reduce waste through making.
If you’ve ever looked at a pile of “junk” and imagined its hidden potential, this is your chance to turn yesterday’s trash into today’s treasure!
We have four total judges’ prizes: Autodesk Design & Make Award for best use of Autodesk software in the creation of your project, and three Student Judges’ Prizes for the best Instructables made by actively enrolled students.
Requirements – Submit a new Instructable that celebrates the spirit of upcycling and gives discarded materials new life.
