2026 Instructables- Colors of the Rainbow Contest

Overview – Color has the power to transform, inspire, and bring ideas to life and there’s no better source of inspiration than the rainbow. The Colors of the Rainbow Contest celebrates creativity across the full spectrum, from bold, single-color designs to projects that blend every hue together.

You can choose to focus deeply on one color or create something that showcases the full range of the rainbow in all its vibrancy. Whether your project is bright and playful, soft and subtle, or somewhere in between, this contest is all about how you use color as a central element of your work.

Think beyond the obvious and explore what it means to add color to your project and your life. From monochromatic builds to multicolored masterpieces, every interpretation of the rainbow is welcome.

This contest has 11 judges’ prizes: Rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple (includes Violet and Indigo), the Autodesk Design & Make Award for best use of Autodesk software in your project, and three Student Judges’ Prizes for the best Instructables created by actively enrolled students.

Requirements – Share your stunning and colorful creations!

Your project can qualify if it includes all (or mores, the more colors the better) of the rainbow or focuses on just one color – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, or Purple (includes Violet and Indigo).

Try to make it obvious which color you are focusing on. We will go by the main image to determine which color if you’ve made various versions of the same projects with different colors of focus.
