Judging – March 29, 2025

This is a State Championship.

25 professional teams from across the region gather to compete in four divisions: chicken, pork, ribs and brisket. Enjoy all the finger-lickin’ barbeque you can eat with a side of live music, local vendors, entertainment and more!

We’re passing the plate at Smokin’ in the Pines, a cooking competition and community festival to benefit First Tee – Sandhills. This inaugural event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the largest society of barbeque enthusiasts in the world.

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm – KCBS Competition Turn-in and Judging
12:00 pm – 4:30 pm – Fire Department BBQ Tent Open for Business
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Kid Zone Activities
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm – Pre-purchase Your People’s Choice Judging Vouchers (Quantity is Limited!)
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Group tours of competition every 30 mins (4 tours)
2:30 pm – 4:00 pm – People’s Choice Award – Sampling & Judging
2:30 pm – 4:30 pm – Live Music by The Low Down Dirty Heathens Band
4:30 pm – 5:15 pm – Awards Presentation
