2024 Minnesota Cultivated Wild Rice Council’s Get Wild with Wild Rice Recipe Contest

General Information

Cultivated Wild Rice Council is looking for inspired cooks to compete in its 15th Annual Recipe Contest. Winning recipes will be featured in the 2024-2025 wild rice recipe brochure, receive “wild” prize packs, and be eligible for cash prizes and our Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships.

Recipes must be original creations of the submitter and include a minimum of:
– 1/4 cup of cooked wild rice per serving
– one of our sponsor products

You may enter one recipe per category (Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree, Side); however, each recipe must be submitted separately. Recipes must be typed in the following order:
1. Developer’s name and contact information (address, phone, email).
2. Recipe title.
3. Recipe category (Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree, Side).
4. Sponsor(s) included in the recipe.
5. Amount of cooked wild rice used in the recipe (recipes calling for uncooked wild rice will be disqualified, even if they include cooking directions).
6. Ingredient measure along with specific ingredient – to be listed in the order called for in the directions.
7. Directions – provide complete preparation directions including cooking/baking time, temperature, and type/size of cookware/bakeware.
8. Number of servings.
9. Photo (can be a photo from your phone).

Prizes / Awards / Medals / Ribbons

Grand Prize – $500.00 (panel judged)
People’s Choice – $250.00 (public vote)
Finalists – Wild Rice Prize Pack (panel judged)
All winners will have their names and recipes published. One finalist will get the ‘Golden Ticket’ to compete in the World Food Championships.

Prize is non-transferable and no substitution by winner or cash equivalent is allowed.
