Judging – Jul 31 – Aug 3, 2023
In 1826 the Agricultural Society judged wine for the first time, however quality wines were few and far between.
In 1828 James Busby brought grapevine cuttings from the most celebrated vineyards of France, Spain and Germany to New South Wales and established a vineyard at Kirkton, and established his reputation as the father of the Australian wine industry – the James Busby Perpetual Trophy for Best NSW Wine at the KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show is named in his honour.
