Judging – April 26-28, 2022
Note that the contest is open to all wines from producing countries in the world, and can be submitted by holders of the right to market or distribute the batch corresponding to the sample that is sent to participate.
The wine competitions, like the rest of the contests, have the objective of recognizing the good work of professionals, consolidating the wine wealth of a region or country, stimulating the production of high quality wines, etc. In addition, the recognition that wines and wineries receive serves to promote wine culture, favor the progress of the sector that produces them, promote quality wines among consumers.
CATEGORIA I: STILL WHITE WINES
CATEGORY II: STILL WHITE WINES WITH MACERATION (ORANGE WINES)
CATEGORY III: STILL ROSE WINES
CATEGORY IV: STILL RED WINES
CATEGORY V: SEPARATED WINES
CATEGORY VI: SPARKLING WINES
CATEGORY VII: LIQUOR WINES
CATEGORY VIII: WINES FROM OVERRIPE GRAPES
CATEGORY IX: WINES OF PASIFIED GRAPES
CATEGORY X: VERMUT
With the registration, the information requested in the regulations must be sent, as well as samples to be presented packaged for sale, with the complete labeling and commercial presentation.
These samples must come from a homogeneous batch of at least 1,000 liters, although there will be some exceptions when the production of a wine, due to its particular characteristics, is very low, in which case a minimum production of 100 liters is established.
Samples can be three 0.75 liter bottles, two magnum bottles, or six 0.5 or 0.375 liter bottles.
And we go with the awards, the distinctions awarded at the Bacchus 2022 International Wine Competition are:
– BIG GOLD BACCHUS: 93 or more points
– BACCHUS OF ORO: 89 to 93 points
–SILVER BACCHUS: 85 to 89 points
As is normal in these contests, the total number of prizes awarded will not exceed 30% of the number of samples registered for the contest. If it were the case, a computer program would take care of making the appropriate adjustment.
One last thing about the prizes, the organization may award special prizes based on their origin, variety, category, etc…
