General Information

The Central Coast Wine Competition is the largest wine evaluation event that recognizes wines produced exclusively from vinifera grown on the Central Coast regions of California. This event promotes the excellent quality and diversity of commercial wineries and grape growers while recognizing the fastest growing wine regions in California.

Winery Benefits
– Exposure to professional judges includes wine retailers from prestigious retail chain stores throughout California, wine media professionals and restaurant buyers.
– The Competition will be showcased at the California Mid-State Fair, Contra Costa County Fair, Grand National Livestock Exposition, Horse Show and Rodeo, Monterey County Fair, San Benito County Fair and the Santa Barbara County Fair. Other marketing opportunities will be offered to award winning wines, through industry partners and the individual fairs.
– Albertsons/Vons is providing stand-alone island retail space to display and sell medal winners of the CCWC in each of its twelve store locations from Paso Robles, CA to Lompoc, CA. Also included is ad space in the newspaper ad inserts promoting the CCWC medal winners. These promotions will run through August and September.
– Press releases of award winners to newspapers and magazines throughout the United States.
– Direct support from local restaurants and retailers on the Central Coast.
– The Tribune’s Vintages/Fall publication will be featuring wines from the CCWC in an eight-page special section.
– American General Media and KRUSH 92.5 will be featuring winners from the competition in monthly radio profiles and quarterly liquid lunch discussions.
– All wines sold during the 12 days of the California Mid-State Fair must be entered in the Central Coast Wine Competition.
– Gold Medal Wine Tasting, on Friday, July 19, is returning to the Mid-State Fair for its second year. Gold medal winning wineries of the CCWC are invited to feature their top rated wines for a consumer wine tasting in Mission Square Plaza. This precedes the annual Wine Industry Awards.
